Deputy defense Minister of Greece visits Socrates V campus. The Parents' Committee of Socrates V was pleased to organize a first class reception for Mr. Yianni Lambropoulo, Deputy defense Minister of Greece. We would like to thank Mrs. Vasil, Kiria Anna for assembling our drum core and flag bearers and Mrs. Chrisoula Petimeza for coordinating our choir.

Our Choir performed for Mr. Lambropoulo , officers from the Greek military, representatives from the Greek consulate and representatives from the HCM, including the President of the HCM, Mr. John Theodosopoulos. The Parents' Committee presented a copy of our choir's greatest hits CD to Mr. Lambropoulo. The Committee also prepared a delicious continental breakfast for our guests.






The painting of Alexandros Alexandrakis (1913-1968) "Unknown Heroes" is depicted in bas-relief on the plate (silver 925'); the artist fought as a corporal machine-gunner and painted themes inspired from the 1940 Epic war.

This plate was presented to our campus by the Deputy Defense Minister of Greece, Mr. Yianni Lambropoulo, during Friday nights(September 15th 2006) opening of the Athens War Museum Exhibition. The exhibition titled "Testimonials and images of the 1940 Epic", will be on display at the HCM community center until the end of this month.

Corn Roast!!!





Second Annual Corn Roast held on Friday September 8th, was lots of fun for all. We would like to thank our teachers, administration and Kirio Vasilli for all their cooperation and support. Special thanks to Mourelatos Super Market for donating the corn.

Dear Parents,

The Socrates V Parents' Committee would like to take this opportunity to welcome everyone back. We hope you all had a wonderful and safe summer and wish all our students the best of luck for the new school year. As the Parents' Committee, our main objective is to enrich our students educational experience, by generating funds through various fundraising initiatives. Over the years we have invested heavily on computers, computer tables, desks , library books, field trips ,teachers aids, anti-bullying programs and many other educational programs and materials. We hope this tradition will continue with the 2006-07 edition of the Parents' Committee. Our Parents' Committee elections will be held on Tuesday September 26th at 7:30 pm , at the Emerson Campus. Whether you would like to be on the committee or not, we encourage all parents to attend. New this year is our Socrates V Parents' Committee Blog. Please check in from time to time for updates on all of our programs. Please note that, for security reasons, we will not post details regarding school trips and outings on this Blog.
